CVSS Meta Temp Score CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system. | Current Exploit Price (≈) Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack. | CTI Interest Score Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability. |

A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Oracle Transportation Management 6.3.7 (Transport Management Software). This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the component Install. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privilege escalation vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-502. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
When using Apache Tomcat versions 10.0.0-M1 to 10.0.0-M4, 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.34, 8.5.0 to 8.5.54 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.103 if a) an attacker is able to control the contents and name of a file on the server; and b) the server is configured to use the PersistenceManager with a FileStore; and c) the PersistenceManager is configured with sessionAttributeValueClassNameFilter="null" (the default unless a SecurityManager is used) or a sufficiently lax filter to allow the attacker provided object to be deserialized; and d) the attacker knows the relative file path from the storage location used by FileStore to the file the attacker has control over; then, using a specifically crafted request, the attacker will be able to trigger remote code execution via deserialization of the file under their control. Note that all of conditions a) to d) must be true for the attack to succeed.
The weakness was published 10/20/2020 as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - October 2020. The advisory is shared for download at oracle.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2020-9484 since 03/01/2020. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack needs to be approached locally. The successful exploitation needs a single authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 11/25/2020).
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
