The WMP ActiveX Control in Windows Media Player 7 allows remote attackers to execute commands in Internet Explorer via javascript URLs, a variant of the "Frame Domain Verification" vulnerability.

The bug was discovered 01/01/2001. The weakness was released 06/02/2001 by Georgi Guninski as MS01-015 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2001-0148. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
