The bug was discovered 04/10/2001. The weakness was released 07/02/2001 by Riley Hassell with eEye (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2001-0422. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
