Funk Software Proxy Host 3.x uses weak encryption for the Proxy Host password, which allows local users to gain privileges by recovering the passwords from the PHOST.INI file or the Windows registry.

The weakness was published 04/22/2002 with BindView (Website). The advisory is shared at razor.bindview.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2002-0065. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
