A vulnerability was found in Cisco Secure Access Control Server up to 3.01 (Network Management Software). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component Administration. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The administration function in Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) for Windows, 2.6.x and earlier and 3.x through 3.01 (build 40), allows remote attackers to read HTML, Java class, and image files outside the web root via a ..\.. (modified ..) in the URL to port 2002.
The bug was discovered 03/16/2002. The weakness was published 04/16/2002 by Jonas Ländin and Patrik Karlsson (Website). The advisory is shared for download at cisco.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2002-0160. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
