A vulnerability has been found in McAfee WebShield 4.x on Win NT/2000 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the component SMTP Content-Filter. McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator agent allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption and crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via an HTTP POST request with an invalid Content-Length value, possibly triggering a buffer overflow.
The weakness was shared 07/21/2003 by Paul Kurczaba with Kurczaba Associates (Website). The advisory is shared for download at secunia.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-0095. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
It is possible to download the exploit at secunia.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
