htcgibin.exe in Lotus Domino server 5.0.9a and earlier, when configured with the NoBanner setting, allows remote attackers to determine the version number of the server via a request that generates an HTTP 500 error code, which leaks the version in a hard-coded error message.

The weakness was presented 07/26/2002 by Nicolas Gregoire with Exaprobe (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-0408. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
