Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in phpRank 1.8 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) email parameter to add.php or (2) banurl parameter.

The bug was discovered 10/10/2002. The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2002 as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2002-1799 since 06/29/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 82 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:add.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
