The bug was discovered 09/25/2002. The weakness was presented 12/31/2002 by DownBload (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2002-2171 since 11/16/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
