The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use of cache containing sensitive information vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-524. The code uses a cache that contains sensitive information, but the cache can be read by an actor outside of the intended control sphere. This is going to have an impact on integrity. CVE summarizes:
The DNS resolver in unspecified versions of Fujitsu UXP/V, when resolving recursive DNS queries for arbitrary hosts, allows remote attackers to conduct DNS cache poisoning via a birthday attack that uses a large number of open queries for the same resource record (RR) combined with spoofed responses, which increases the possibility of successfully spoofing a response in a way that is more efficient than brute force methods.
The weakness was shared 12/31/2002 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is available at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2002-2212 since 05/23/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
