A vulnerability has been found in Cisco IOS 11.0/11.1/11.3/12.0 (Router Operating System) and classified as critical. Cisco IOS 11.2.x and 12.0.x does not limit the size of its redirect table, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via spoofed ICMP redirect packets to the router.
The weakness was disclosed 12/31/2002 with Phenoelit (Website). The advisory is shared at online.securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2002-2315 since 10/26/2007.
