A vulnerability has been found in University of Kansas Lynx 2.8.2 Rel1 up to 2.8.4 Rel1 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. CRLF injection vulnerability in Lynx 2.8.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject false HTTP headers into an HTTP request that is provided on the command line, via a URL containing encoded carriage return, line feed, and other whitespace characters.
The bug was discovered 08/18/2002. The weakness was presented 02/19/2003 by Ulf Harnhammar (Website). The advisory is shared for download at marc.info. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-1405. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
