Macromedia Flash Plugin before 6,0,47,0 allows remote attackers to bypass the same-domain restriction and read arbitrary files via (1) an HTTP redirect, (2) a "file://" base in a web document, or (3) a relative URL from a web archive (mht file).

The weakness was released 04/22/2003 by jelmer as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at online.securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2002-1467. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.

Upgrading to version 6.0 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published 3 months after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
