Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in phpGB before 1.20 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or script into guestbook pages, which is executed when the administrator deletes the entry.

The bug was discovered 09/09/2002. The weakness was presented 04/22/2003 by ppp-design (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2002-1480. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 225 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k.

Upgrading to version 1.20 eliminates this vulnerability.
