The bug was discovered 12/02/2004. The weakness was disclosed 02/03/2004 by Dirk-Willem van Gulik (Website). The advisory is available at lists.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-1082 since 11/30/2004. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
