Red-M Red-Alert 2.7.5 with software 3.1 build 24 binds authentication to IP addresses, which allows remote attackers to bypass authentication by connecting from the same IP address as an active authenticated user.

The bug was discovered 10/03/2003. The weakness was disclosed 02/08/2004 by Bruno Morisson (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securitytracker.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2004-2079 since 05/19/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
