A vulnerability has been found in Lionmax WWW File Share Pro up to 2.42 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the component HTTP Header Handler. The manipulation of the argument Content-Disposition
with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in upload capability of WWW File Share Pro 2.42 and earlier allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary files via .. (dot dot) sequences in the filename parameter of a Content-Disposition: header.
The weakness was disclosed 02/17/2004 (Website). The advisory is shared at securitytracker.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-0059. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
