A vulnerability was found in Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.7 (Supply Chain Management Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown functionality. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in extproc in Oracle 9i and 10g allows remote attackers to access arbitrary libraries outside of the $ORACLE_HOME\bin directory.

The bug was discovered 12/23/2004. The weakness was published 08/04/2004 by Esteban Martinez Fayo (Alexander) (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at us-cert.gov. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-1364 since 01/07/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. The successful exploitation needs a simple authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1006 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

A public exploit has been developed in SQL. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $5k-$25k.
