Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6 does not properly handle plug-in navigation, which allows remote attackers to alter displayed address bars and thereby spoof web pages, facilitating phishing attacks, aka the "Plug-in Navigation Address Bar Spoofing Vulnerability."
The issue has been introduced in 07/08/2000. The weakness was presented 11/03/2004 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2004-0843 since 09/08/2004. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
