CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability has been found in Egroupware 1.0/1.0.1/1.0.3 (Groupware Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Calendar Module. The manipulation of the argument Start with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. CVE summarizes:

Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in eGroupWare 1.0.00.003 and earlier allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) date or search text field in the calendar module, (2) Field parameter, Filter parameter, QField parameter, Start parameter or Search field in the address module, (3) Subject field in the message module or (4) Subject field in the Ticket module.

The weakness was released 12/31/2004 by Joxean Koret (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-1467 since 02/13/2005. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.

After even before and not, there has been an exploit disclosed. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 2 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 14358 (eGroupWare <= 1.0.00.003 Multiple Module XSS), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses : XSS and running in the context r.

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (17078) and Tenable (14358).
