Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file showgallery.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in showgallery.php in PhotoPost before 4.86 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) cat, (2) si, (3) page, or (4) ppuser parameters.

The weakness was published 01/03/2005 by James Bercegay with Gulftech as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2005-0274 since 02/10/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:showgallery.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.

Upgrading to version 4.86 eliminates this vulnerability.
