Netfilter in Linux kernel 2.6.8.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (kernel crash) via crafted IP packet fragments.
The bug was discovered 02/15/2005. The weakness was published 05/02/2005 by Michael Kerrisk (Website). The advisory is shared for download at novell.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-0209 since 02/01/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
