A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Devellion CubeCart 2.0.0/2.0.1/2.0.2/2.0.3/2.0.5 (E-Commerce Management Software). This affects some unknown functionality of the file information.php of the component Error Message Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. CubeCart 2.0.0 through 2.0.5 allows remote attackers to determine the full path of the server via direct calls without parameters to (1) information.php, (2) language.php, (3) list_docs.php, (4) popular_prod.php, (5) sale.php, (6) subfooter.inc.php, (7) subheader.inc.php, (8) cat_navi.php, or (9) check_sum.php, which reveals the path in a PHP error message.
The bug was discovered 02/15/2005. The weakness was disclosed 05/02/2005 by HACKERS PAL (Website). The advisory is shared at cubecart.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2005-0607 since 03/01/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
The exploit is shared for download at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 6 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:information.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
