of the file events_functions.asp. The manipulation of the argument EVENT_ID
with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in the Update_Events function in events_functions.asp in MaxWebPortal 1.33 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the EVENT_ID parameter, as demonstrated using events.asp.
The bug was discovered 03/31/2005. The weakness was released 05/02/2005 by Zinho (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securitytracker.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-1017 since 04/08/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
