Wordpress 1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a direct request to files in (1) wp-content/themes/, (2) wp-includes/, or (3) wp-admin/, which reveal the path in an error message.
The weakness was disclosed 05/20/2005 as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-1688. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
