The VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) feature in Cisco IOS 12.1(19) allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a VTP version 1 summary frame with a VTP version field value of 2.
The bug was discovered 09/13/2006. The weakness was published 09/14/2006 by Felix Lindner (FX) with Phenoelit (Website). The advisory is shared for download at phenoelit.de. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-4774 since 09/13/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available.
