A vulnerability was found in W-Agora 4.2 (Content Management System). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown function of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument site with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. The bug was discovered 08/18/2005. The weakness was disclosed 08/23/2005 by matrix_killer (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-2648 since 08/21/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.
