ezconfig.asp in Linksys WRT54G router 3.01.03, 3.03.6, non-default configurations of 2.04.4, and possibly other versions, uses weak encryption (XOR encoding with a fixed byte mask) for configuration information, which could allow attackers to decrypt the information and possibly re-encrypt it in conjunction with CVE-2005-2914.

The bug was discovered 09/13/2005. The weakness was published 09/14/2005 by iDefense Labs with iDEFENSE Labs (Website). The advisory is available at idefense.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-2915 since 09/14/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1600 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
