A vulnerability was found in versatileBulletinBoard 1.0.0.rc2 (Forum Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file dereferrer.php. The manipulation of the argument file
with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in versatileBulletinBoard (vBB) 1.0.0 RC2 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the url parameter in dereferrer.php and (2) the file parameter in imagewin.php.
The bug was discovered 10/12/2005. The weakness was disclosed 10/10/2005 by rgod (Website). The advisory is available at rgod.altervista.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-3260 since 10/20/2005. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
After even before and not, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:dereferrer.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
