The bug was discovered 11/24/2005. The weakness was disclosed 11/25/2005 by Daniel Fabian with SEC-CONSULT (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-3824 since 11/26/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
