A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Mext phpCOIN 1.2.2. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the file articles\articles_funcs.php of the component Error Message Handler. The manipulation of the argument rec_next
with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SQL injection vulnerability in articles\articles_funcs.php in phpCOIN 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to modify SQL syntax and possibly execute SQL in limited circumstances via the rec_next parameter. NOTE: the original disclosure suggests that command injection is not feasible because the injection occurs after an "ORDER BY" clause, but it is likely that this bug could result in an error message path disclosure due to a syntax error, in some environments. Therefore this is an exposure and should be included in CVE.
