CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Mantis up to 1.00rc4 (Bug Tracking Software). This issue affects an unknown function of the file view_all_set.php. The manipulation of the argument title with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is integrity. The summary by CVE is:

Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Mantis 1.00rc4 and earlier allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) hide_status, (2) handler_id, (3) user_monitor, (4) reporter_id, (5) view_type, (6) show_severity, (7) show_category, (8) show_status, (9) show_resolution, (10) show_build, (11) show_profile, (12) show_priority, (13) highlight_changed, (14) relationship_type, and (15) relationship_bug parameters in (a) view_all_set.php; the (16) sort parameter in (b) manage_user_page.php; the (17) view_type parameter in (c) view_filters_page.php; and the (18) title parameter in (d) proj_doc_delete.php. NOTE: item 17 might be subsumed by CVE-2005-4522.

The bug was discovered 10/08/2005. The weakness was disclosed 01/17/2006 by Tobias Klein as not defined posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-0841 since 02/22/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 101 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:view_all_set.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 22675 (Debian DSA-1133-1 : mantis - missing input sanitising), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Debian Local Security Checks.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (24727) and Tenable (22675). The entries 28846, 28691, 28690 and 27769 are pretty similar.
