Cisco IOS after 12.3(14)T, 12.3(8)YC1, 12.3(8)YG, and 12.4, with voice support and without Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) configured, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) by sending a crafted packet to port 5060/UDP.

The bug was discovered 01/31/2007. The weakness was disclosed 01/31/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at cisco.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2007-0648 since 01/31/2007. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at cisco.com.
