A vulnerability was found in GNU Binutils 2.43. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects the function xmemdup
of the file xmemdup.c of the component ld. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. Impacted is availability.
