Buffer overflow in pl_main.c in sail in BSDgames before 2.17-7 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via a long player name that is used in a scanf function call.
The bug was discovered 04/05/2006. The weakness was published 04/03/2006 by Anibal L. Sacco (Website). The advisory is available at us.debian.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-1744 since 04/12/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
