with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in gallerie.php in SL_site 1.0 allows remote attackers to list images in arbitrary directories via ".." sequences in the rep parameter, which is used to construct a directory name in admin/config.inc.php. NOTE: this issue could be used to produce resultant XSS from an error message.
The weakness was disclosed 04/24/2006 by benozor77 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-2014 since 04/25/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:gallerie.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
