Directory traversal vulnerability in PowerISO 2.9 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in a filename in an ISO image.
The weakness was disclosed 04/29/2006 by Sowhat with Nevis Labs (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-2102 since 04/29/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1006.
