Secure Elements Class 5 AVR (aka C5 EVM) 2.8.1 and earlier, and possibly later 2.8.x releases, uses the same initialization vector and key for each message session, which allows remote attackers to obtain potentially sensitive information about messages.
The weakness was presented 05/31/2006 by CIRT as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-2711 since 05/31/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
