Stack-based buffer overflow in IBM DB2 Universal Data Base 7.2 for Windows, before Fixpak 10a, allows attackers with "Connect" privileges to execute arbitrary code via the INVOKE command.
The bug was discovered 10/01/2003. The weakness was disclosed 10/01/2003 by Matt Moore with Pentest Limited (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at pentest.co.uk. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2003-0837 since 09/29/2003. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at www-3.ibm.com.
