A vulnerability was found in QaTraq 6.5. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file queries_view_search.php. The manipulation of the argument content with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. NOTE: the vendor notified CVE via e-mail that this issue has been fixed in the 6.8 RC release.

The weakness was published 06/23/2006 by Nenad Jovanovic (Website). The advisory is shared at testmanagement.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-3312 since 06/29/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

After even before and not, there has been an exploit disclosed. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as highly functional. By approaching the search of inurl:queries_view_search.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability.
