A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Tigertom Scripts Ttcalc Script 1.0. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file loan.php. The manipulation of the argument year
with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in TigerTom TTCalc 1.0 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the year parameter in (1) loan.php and (2) mortgage.php.
The weakness was published 07/05/2006 by luny (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-3428 since 07/06/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
After even before and not, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 1 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:loan.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
