This issue affects an unknown function of the file register.php of the component Admin Interface. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Kailash Nadh boastMachine (formerly bMachine) 3.1 and earlier allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) user_login, (2) full_name, and (3) URL parameters in register.php; and allow remote authenticated administrators to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (4) cat_list and (5) key parameters in a certain portion of the admin interface.
The weakness was presented 07/25/2006 (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-3826 since 07/24/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:register.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
