A vulnerability was found in Squiz Mysource Classic up to 3.8. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the component HTTP Proxy Server. The manipulation of the argument sq_remote_page_url
with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
** DISPUTED ** MySource Matrix 3.8 and earlier, and MySource 2.x, allow remote attackers to use the application as an HTTP proxy server via the sq_remote_page_url parameter to access arbitrary sites with the server s IP address and conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. NOTE: the researcher reports that "The vendor does not consider this a vulnerability."
