Mail in Apple iPhone 1.1.1 allows remote user-assisted attackers to force the iPhone user to make calls to arbitrary telephone numbers via a "tel:" link, which does not prompt the user before dialing the number.

The weakness was released 09/28/2007 by Michal Zalewski with McAfee (Website). The advisory is shared at docs.info.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-3755 since 07/12/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept.

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at docs.info.apple.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
