The issue has been introduced in 01/31/2005. The weakness was released 01/14/2008 with Sun (Website). The advisory is available at sunsolve.sun.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2008-0242 since 01/11/2008. The attack needs to be initiated within the local network. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
