A vulnerability has been found in ScriptMagix ScriptMagix Photo Rating up to 2.0 (Feedback Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the file viewcomments.php. The manipulation of the argument phid
with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in viewcomments.php in ScriptMagix Photo Rating 2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the phid parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 03/18/2007 by ajann (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2007-1619 since 03/22/2007. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by ajann in Perl and been published even before and not after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:viewcomments.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
