CRLF injection vulnerability in the FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL filter in ext/filter in PHP 5.2.0 and 5.2.1 allows context-dependent attackers to inject arbitrary e-mail headers via an e-mail address with a \n character, which causes a regular expression to ignore the subsequent part of the address string.

The bug was discovered 04/07/2007. The weakness was presented 04/07/2007 by Stefan Esser (Website). The advisory is available at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-1900 since 04/10/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
