The bug was discovered 04/17/2007. The weakness was presented 04/24/2007 by Landon Fuller with Mu Security research team (Website). The advisory is available at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2007-0732 since 02/05/2007. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 2 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 25081 (Mac OS X Multiple Vulnerabilities (Security Update 2007-004)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
