WinAce allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via a ZOO archive with a direntry structure that points to a previous file.

The weakness was disclosed 05/04/2007 by Jean-Sebastien Guay-Leroux (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-2535 since 05/08/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept.
