ACP3 4.0 Beta 3 feeds.php form[mods][] sql injection

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in ACP3 4.0 Beta 3. This affects some unknown processing of the file feeds.php. The manipulation of the argument form[mods][] with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in ACP3 4.0 beta 3 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via (1) the mode parameter to feeds.php, the (2) form[cat] parameter to (a) news/list/index.php or (b) certain news/details/id_*/action_create/index.php files, or (3) the form[mods][] parameter to search/list/action_search/index.php.

The weakness was presented 05/05/2007 by John Martinelli (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2007-2577 since 05/09/2007. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.

It is declared as highly functional. By approaching the search of inurl:feeds.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at X-Force (34111). See 36695, 36694, 85642 and 85643 for similar entries.
